About Pre-Apprenticeships

Pre-Apprenticeships unlock the great potential of young people and prepare them for their future careers. They also provide essential work preparation training in Maths and English and the work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or job.

The programmes are delivered by training providers and funded by the government. Employers then provide valuable work experience placements and interviews as part of the programme. Pre-Apprenticeships have a maximum duration of 6 months.

How do Pre-Apprenticeships

A Pre-Apprenticeship will put you in a better position to compete for an Apprenticeship or job. This is by providing you with the opportunity to build your CV and get vital on-the-job experience with local and national employers.

Improving your Maths and English skills will boost your chances of getting a job, as well as improving your long-term prospects and earning potential over your lifetime.

At the end of the work experience placement, you’ll get a job interview with the company if a role becomes available or a reference and an exit interview.

For Pre-Apprenticeships

This delivery model outlines the stages that learners will go through during the training programme and work placement. As you can see, the hope for all pre-apprenticeships is a progression onto an apprenticeship and success in full-time future employment.


Throughout the Pre-Apprenticeship training programme, learners will engage in a dynamic learning journey focused on enhancing their knowledge, skills, and behaviours. They will acquire formal recognition upon fulfilment of the curriculum, which encompasses a range of essential topics including:

(PCS) Programme

This programme has been personally tailored to deliver a more extensive level of training, focusing on subjects that were specifically requested by previous learners. Our intention is to enhance the current learning journey being provided by delving deeper into these areas of interest.
