My primary duties each day are running a payroll and answering the phone to anyone calling the business, as well as collecting and dealing with the post when needed.
My working environment is relaxed and friendly. There isn’t the strict dress code as expected in schools or other offices. It can go from being really quiet to busy in a matter of minutes which helps to keep interesting.
The business I work for is small and so I work with two male colleagues daily, however, I am in contact with a third party company regularly also.
My favourite part of my job is getting to know all the clients and employees through regular phone calls. I also enjoy the flexibility within the office from the dress code to breaks.
The main challenges I face on a day to day basis is collecting time sheets off employees and understanding the array of accents.
During my time with the business and constant contact with the other employees, the daily tasks have become easier, as has my understanding of the accents. This could still be improved, but all that is needed is time.
