For my parent feedback, I would like to discuss my son’s educational journey with PCS. My son Owen left school with several GCSEs but decided he did not want to go to college. After discussing his options with him at length, we decided that an Apprenticeship would suit him.
We began searching for Apprenticeships on the GOV website. Eventually, we came across a Customer Services Practitioner Apprenticeship through Protocol Group at Principle Estate management. Owen applied for the job and received an interview for the role. Once interviewed, Owen was offered the position the same day and happily accepted. He then completed an induction to his course with Protocol and quickly settled into his role at Principle Estate.
As part of his Apprenticeship, Owen attends Protocol once a month to complete his portfolio work. He also receives support throughout his course from his office-based mentor and tutor at Protocol. He has now been offered a full-time role within Principle Estate Management once he has completed his course in the next few months.
I would highly recommend this path for those seeking access to employment and gaining a qualification at the same time. Owen has learned so much with the hands-on experience and the coursework he has completed. He has grown in confidence and has aspirations to aspire to be a Property Manager in the future.
The government will also be expanding the eligibility for traineeships to those with Level 3 qualifications and below to ensure more young people have access to a high level of training.
