What are your main responsibilities?

My main responsibilities at BVSC are to; keep our website up-to-date by adding adverts and new articles, to assist Ian or Jason in any work they require help, to advertise 5 Way Training and take booking via a form I created on the website, to fill in invoices and book rooms for Five Ways Training.

Pathway Selected

I was never sure what I wanted to do in school. So when I left 6th form I tried many different jobs and didn’t enjoy any of them as they were all physical job and I’m a bit lazy. I lost my job and was on JSA for a while. The Job Centre told me about this training place called JHP which I attended and they informed me of the Apprenticeship training at Protocol so I went and checked it out. I was able to get on a Business Administrator Apprenticeship at Protocol and after a little while was able top gain a place within an organisation thanks to Adrian my Tutor at Protocol. I really enjoy my job and feel for the 1st time in my life that I am achieving and making something of myself.

What is your working environment like?

My work environment at BVSC is very friendly and professional. Colleagues are always willing to help if need be.

Who do you work with? (Departments, Work colleagues)

I mainly work with Ian A and Jason M. However I am currently working with a few different people from different teams within BVSC. Ian has been really impressed with my work and encourages me to branch out and gain as much experience as I can.

What do you like about your job?

I really enjoy my job. It is the 1st time I have worked in an office which I have seen myself doing since I left school. I feel like I am more suited to this job than any of my other jobs I have previously done.

What are the main challenges you face on a daily basis?

My main challenge when I started was dealing with people over the phone. I don’t have to do it often at all but when I did I lacked confidence.

How do you overcome these challenges, should you require assistance?

I now feel I am starting to over come this and gain confidence every time I take a professional call. Its all about repetition.

This will definitely help me in my career progression. I would one day like to be some kind of Manager or acquire a higher position within BVSC.
