What is ASW?

ASW is a programme that provides funded and part-funded training to help those employed within the Birmingham area improve their skills. As well as improving future progression opportunities in their current business or elsewhere.

The West Midlands Combined Authority funds ASW through the Adult Education Budget (AEB). The overall aim of AEB funding is to engage West Midlands Combined Authority residents aged 19 and above and provide education and training. This is to better equip them with the skills they and local employers need, enabling them ultimately to access or progress in work.

The programme will deliver basic level Maths and English qualifications as well as vocational training in a wide range of subjects tailored to the individuals and employer’s needs.
