My main responsibilities include; answering the phone to internal phone calls, from such people as the Accounts Team and Property Assistants, as well as dealing with external calls accepting payments and answering queries from clients. I also have a property portfolio I follow the arrears on, chasing clients when necessary.
The path that I decided on was initially was to go to college to do my AS Levels. After deciding this wasn’t for me, I also tried a BTEC at another college which I couldn’t complete due to some health problems. After this, I found the apprenticeships.org.uk website, and through this I found a vacancy at a Hotel. However instead of attending an interview for that I was offered a place to start my apprenticeship at Protocol. After three months working on my qualification, I got my first interview at CPBigwood, and was offered the position the very same day.
My working environment is very friendly as all of the staff know each other, even between departments, and get on very well.
I work with a great number of people within the business, especially in the Accounts Team and with Property Assistants, but this can change on a daily basis.
One of the things I like about my job is interacting with all the other staff, as they have made me feel welcome and very much a part of the team.
The main challenge I faced when I first started was dealing with all the different queries on the phone, as you never know what someone is going to ask you, and when dealing with a new system it can be quite daunting!
I work with many helpful staff members who are willing to guide me through difficult situations, providing me with the knowledge and experience I need to complete the task on my own next time.
Employer: CP Bigwood
Job Role: Credit Control
Qualification: Business Administration
Hopefully I will finish my apprenticeship with Protocol, and then go on to a career in Credit Control, potentially staying at CPBigwood.
